GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • The competition and workshop will be conducted entirely in English.
  • Each school must submit the official application form.
  • A single teacher-in-charge must register the team(s).
  • If registering two teams, it is strongly recommended that two teachers accompany them.
  • The teacher-in-charge or another designated teacher must be present at all phases: Workshop, Preliminary Round and the Grand Finale.
  • Students in Grade 10, O/L, or A/L are eligible.
  • All participants will receive certificates of participation.
  • Participants must uphold high standards of professionalism, respect, and integrity.
  • Cheating, plagiarism, or unethical conduct will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Teams must comply with all schedules and deadlines.
  • All decisions by judges and organizers are final and not subject to appeal.
  • Organizers reserve the right to amend rules and will communicate any changes promptly.

COMPETITION RULES

    • A mandatory workshop led by an academic and corporate partner will be held before the competition.
    • Teams must have a preliminary product idea ready for the Opening Ceremony and Learning Workshop.
    • After the workshop, you will have 2 weeks to develop your business plan and prepare for the Preliminary Round.
    • Initial Business Idea Summary:
      • Max 500 words
        Microsoft Word format
      • Must highlight your concept and relevance to community concerns
    • Final Submission:
      • Complete business idea document
      • Presentation slides or video content (optional)
      • Submit before the Final Round (template provided)
    • Each team has 5 minutes to pitch during Preliminary and Final Rounds.
    • Delivery format is up to the team; not all members must present.
    • A screen will be available for optional visual aids.
    • Final Round Prototype: A functional or conceptual prototype is mandatory.
    • Preliminary Round Prototype: Optional
    • Each team will be paired with a mentor to support idea development.

COMPETITION THEME

  • Your business pitch must address a real community problem and provide sustainable solutions with environmental, social, or economic benefits.

    Examples of Community Concerns:

    • Social Concerns:
      • Poverty and unemployment
      • Limited access to quality education
      • Poor mental health awareness
    • Environmental Concerns:
      • Waste management and littering
      • Water pollution or scarcity
      • Air pollution and traffic emissions
    • Economic Concerns:
      • Lack of support for small businesses
      • Low digital literacy for modern jobs
      • Overdependence on imports
    • Health & Safety:
      • Lifestyle diseases (e.g., diabetes, obesity)
      • Food insecurity
      • Limited access to healthcare
    • Digital & Technology:
      • Lack of tech skills in underserved communities
      • Digital divide and limited internet access
      • Misinformation and lack of media literacy
